I decided to take this course for the three SDU,s. It was free,I did not have to travel,no transportation cost,no books and I thought it might be easy,especially if I could talk Mark Moore into taking it with me. I was in desperate need of the three SDU's ,so I was going to take it one way or another. I was glad Mark decided to do it with me. We were able to discuss problems and usually come up with solutions. Putting all of this aside, this is the most productive class I have ever taken. I only wish I could have taken it ten years ago.

The computer age is flying at us at a rapid pace. I can envision schools of the future. No expensive building,no transportation cost,a computer classroom in every household.Home based computer classes. You don't have to go to college anymore. They have so many online degrees that you don't have to travel to increase your knowledge. This class was so much fun, and I learned more about the computer in a few weeks than I ever thought I would.

Our kids are so much more advanced than we are,especially me. Maybe I have closed the gap. I have talked to so many of our young teacher about this course and it's value to them. The Old man can retire with the fact that he is not as computer illiterate as he used to be. Thanks for an experience.The computer highway will not be so hard to travel in my future. Thanks again.

I explored several sites and played around with three or four.There are so many things out there that it's almost impossible to get to all of them. I am truly amazed at the information that is out there for educational use. Three of the sites I liked were Dipity, Befunky,and Animoto. Dipity allows you to create a fip book with the ability to pick images and videos. It would be a great tool for my to use in Geography. I could pick up images from around the world and put them on a map.The one I decided to use was Animoto. It was very easy to use and I can see where it could be used in a number of subject areas. I created a 30 second video using famous places from around the world. The whole process was fun, easy and very neat.Before this class, I would never have attempted any thing like this. I wish I would have found this a few years ago. I know I will explore more of the Web 2.0 tools. Yes, even after this course is complete.

Thing 21 Digital Citizenship

My score was so low on the digital citizenship test. I really do not want to publish it. I knew that my computer literacy was limited. The old man found out how much by taking this course. Oh well the score was a 22. I really thought I was doing well on the test until I finished it. Parents should be the main force in the kids computer access and education. They should be the major force in all phases of their education. Unfortunately, that does not seem to be the trend. With the breakdown of the family,we as teachers have taken on too many of the parents responsibilities. Manners and social skills have really suffered in the past few years. Their social skills are really atrocious. They only think about themselves and what makes them happy. I was always told by my mother never write something that you did not want others to know. Today that is really good advice to all of us. We as teachers whether we like it or not are the main line of communication to our student. Its our responsibility to teach them computer etiquette. The computer is here to stay, and it will become more prevalent in the educational system.

Thing 20 Organization

I looked at all three of the organizational tools. The one I found to be useful to me and my needs was Simplybox. I coach the throwers in track at Apalachee. I explored google and found some useful information on the steps to the discus throw. I know I can use this in the spring. I could e-mail the steps to my throwers and let them study them in their own time. It would also be useful to take pictures of my throwers and organize them and e-mail pictures of them throwing. I really had a lot of trouble at school getting the tool bar to show up in order to box my pictures. I never could get it at school. I had no problems on my home computer and found it to be very easy. I still have not figured out how to embed it in my wiki space. Hope I can get some help at school.

Sleep deprivation; Most of us including me, never realize how important sleep is to our bodies. When I was younger,I could go with out much sleep. Little did I realize how it effected me and my body. I might have been a better athlete if I had the information I have now. I think it is important to tell our young people about the effects of the lack of sleep on all the bodies functions. I have sleep Apnea and tried hard to lose weight but the pounds would not come off. This past year I have lost 40 pounds and I
attribute most of the weight loss to my treatment for Sleep Apnea. This is a real problem in our society today.

I could not see me using this in my everyday classroom. It seems to be more useful as a tool to relate information to other teachers in my field. It could also be used to record lessons for students who were out of school for an extended period of time.This assignment took me so long to complete. All of these assignment seem easy after you play with them for a long time.
